It's not what you think.

I talk to people all the time who are unhappy in their jobs.

Maybe you're unhappy too.

That unhappiness is like an anchor, weighing you down and preventing you from moving forward.

πŸ˜” You don't have the energy to look for a new role.

πŸ˜” You can't muster the willpower to do things differently at work.

πŸ˜” You just do your job, head down, and try not to make any waves.

Inevitably though, waves happen.

And you're feeling pushed and pulled by the tide.

You think: "When I get a new job, I will be happy."

➜ And yes, you might be, but science says if you work on being happy right now, you're more likely to be successful at whatever you're working to do.

Take a look at this video (it's pretty short, quite funny, and really informative.)

Here's the thing: finding happiness isn't what you think.

It's not about your circumstances as much as it is about your outlook. Yes, they influence each other, but you can accelerate the cycle at a different point - not just by changing your circumstances, but by changing how you see the world.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

β–Ά Do you believe that being positive can increase your feelings of happiness?

β–Ά Can increased happiness lead to increased success?

β–Ά And when does it cross the line into toxic positivity?

More and more, people are hanging on to jobs they don't like because they think that a bad job is better than no job at all. And while in most cases that's true, it's still pretty hard to handle being in a job you don't like. Let's be clear. Today, I'm not talking about the toxic jobs with narcissistic bosses - the ones where you're called at 2 a.m. to fix a problem that could have easily waited until morning (or next week). No, I'm just talking about your run-of-the-mill bad job. The kind...
